  • In animal models of uveitis, topical Instillation of extracts of Curcuma longa and daruharidra demonstrated Strong anti-inflammatory action
  • The anti-inflammatory effect against Ocular inflammation was noted in animal models.

Benefits of daruharidra for Skin:

Based on the clinical observation rate of healing and change in histomorphological features, a study on male adult goat wound healing activity was undertaken. Daruharidra can be used to expedite wound healing, as the extracts were applied as an ointment to open wounds in animal models and showed improvement

According to recent studies, Daruharidra may be used as an anti-aging product.

Researchers Say that the extracts of Daruharidra plants have a rich source of antioxidants that may be used to slow down the aging process.

4. Suran (Amorphophallus Campaulatus)

Several Studies have found that different parts of Surana have potential properties

They Are:

Increase the motility of gastroIntestinal tract, flatulence relieving Property, It possesses cytotoxic properties (kills cancer cells) Show antibacterial & antifungal activity, It possess anti-inflammatory properties. & also have properties that can relieve pain.

Potential use of Amorphophallus Paeoniifolius:

The tuber of elephant yam may help relieve pain. The analgesic activity of Surana extract was evaluated on mice Surana may inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are responsible for inflammation. It may be used to reduce the side effects of conventional analgesics as add on drug.

potential use of surana in gastrointestinal diseases:

Surana is used in traditional medicine for gastrointestinal disorders like piles, abdominal pain and constipation.

The property of increasing gastrointestinal motility has been tested on Wistar rats. It was proven that elephant yam increases motility in the stomach (gastrokinetic action) therefore, it may be used to treat gastrointestinal disturbances.

The tuber of Amorphophallus paeoniifolius, commonly called Suran has medicinal &food value It is used in ethnomedicinal practices for the correction of gastro. Intestinal disturbances Such as constipation and hemorrhoids.

The present study evaluated the effect of A. paeoniifolius tuber on gastrointestinal motor functions. For This experiment was done on Rats by Oral administration of methanolic or aqueous extract of tuber for 7 days.

The results indicate the gastro kinetic Potential of the tuber extracts.

This may be attributed to the presence of glucomannan & betulinic acid present in extracts.

In conclusion, the tuber of A. paeoniifolius exhibits gastrokinetic activity and Substantiates its traditional use in gastrointestinal motor disturbances.

5. Kutaj (Holarrhena antidysenterica)

Kutaja herb has long been used as a cure for diarrhea and intestinal worms in Indian traditional medicine. The barks and roots are used effectively for the management of both acute & Chronic dysentery, particularly in situations where there is a lot of blood and mucus, colic discomfort & loose Stools.

Benefits of Kutaja in managing Piles:

In patients with bleeding piles, the stem bark extract of H. antidysenterica in kutajatrak Churna exhibited therapeutic action

Anti-diarrheal Benefits Of Kutaja:

As Per in vivo experiments, for castor oil-induced diarrhea in rats, ethanolic Seed extracts of Kutaja showed a considerable rise in the dry weight of stools & a reduction in defecation drops. Enteroinvasive E. coli, shigella flexneri, Shigella boydii, and Salmonella enteritidis are all susceptible to bark extract.

Shonitarsha (Bleeding piles) is a common chronic painful disease afflicting mankind having only surgical treatment (haemorrhoidectomy) In modern Science recurrence is more often. Bleeding per rectum during defecation with fresh blood not mixed with motion is the commonest symptom of Shonitarsha. Kutaja is an important plant mentioned in Ayurveda and used successfully in Atisara, Pravahika, and Arsha, especially in Shonitarsa.

The Fine powder of the Holarrhena antidysenterica wall Stem bark was Prepared and given to the patients in a dose of 4 gms twice a day for 2 weeks. The results of this study are Subjective to the significant efficacy of the drug in the symptom “Stoppage of bleeding” in Shonitarsa. All patients completed their entire study period of 4 weeks and 20 out of 22 patients showed a status of well-being. Later, another group also performed a clinical trial for piles and observed that Powder has a significant role in stopping the bleeding in the disease Shonitarsa (bleeding piles) .

A clinical Study on Stem bark extracts of Kutaja in the form of Kutajatvak churn Showed healing activity in patients suffering from bleeding piles.

In a clinical study, it was observed that a daily intake of the bark powder for 15 days completely cured patients Suffering from amebiasis.

6. Babool (Acacia Arabia)

Babool its main properties are Anti-inflammatory Activity, Immunomodulatory Effect, Haemostatic Property, Antithrombotic Activity.

Antiinflammatory activity:

Fresh flowers of Acacia nilotica were extracted with extracted 80% alcohol and the concentrated extract was fractionated in the usual way The ethyl acetate fraction was found to contain isoquercetin. The Structure was characterized by uv, NMR, paper chromatographic  chemical studies. The yellow pigment was found to contain promising results with respect to acute Chronic anti-inflammatory Studies it also showed considerable percentage protection of bacteriostatic effect on Bacillus Subtilis, a gram positive organism.

Haemostatic property:

In a Study the potential of the Polymeric component of aqueous extracts of gum acacia and the seeds Of M.Oleifera (MSP) in wound management was evaluated. The results revealed that both biopolymers were hemostatic and hasten blood coagulation. They showed Shortening of activated partial thromboplastin time and prothrombin time and were non-cytotoxic in nature.

Anti- thrombotic activity:

A study was carried out by B Bukhtiar H Shah et al that the extract of Acacia nilotica has the capacity to block platelet aggregation mediated by platelet agonists and collagen in a dose- dependent manner. The findings revealed that the Antiplatelet Aggregatory activity of the extract of A. Nilotica is mainly due to blockade of ca 2+ channels, although evidence also suggests that the involvement of protein kinase.

Potential uses of Babool on rectal prolapse:

Prolapse means a displacement of an organ from its normal position. The decoction of babool bark may be used in rectal prolapse The decoction of root bark may be used for Stomach pain. The leave decoction is used in the form of nutool (A method of Pouring the Solution from a height over the specific part) in prolapse. However, its effectiveness on humans requires more testing however, more studies on humans are required to support the potential use of babool for rectal prolapse.

Cochinchinensis resin showed antithrombotic & anticoagulation activities in rats like wise, Liu et al (35) demonstrated that rats that received an ethanolic extract D. Cochinchinensis resin showed significantly better wound contraction and skin-breaking Strength compared with the control group. These results highlight the significance of dragon’s blood resin in the reduction of clotting time. Other In vitro studies have shown inhibitory effects of three compounds, isolated from dragon’s blood on ADP-Induced platelet aggregation. In addition, a clinical trial. conducted by Nam joyan Suggested that dragon’s blood resin from croton lechleri is a potent , affordable and healing Safe agent.
